DOUBLE HSS CHECK FOR AISC

NEED CHECK FOR AISC WITH DOUBLE HSS, SHAPE EDITOR IS OK BUT I CANNOT CHANGE THE THICKNESS OF THE ELEMENT

    Please can you attach a sample illustration of the arrangement you are attempting to model/design. Also AISC 360 does not explicitly describe the deign process for double HSS profiles, so attach a sample of each of the checks that would be performed when this profile shape is in compression, tension, bending and torsion. which we would need to ensure are accounted for to support such a shape?

    Hi, double HSS is like double Angle, for Truss chords. I can use it with Shape Editor, but i think the correct way is designing it with AISC 360 Code

    Thank you for posting this idea. Can you elaborate on this a little. How are you defining a double HSS profile? Do you mean two rectangular profiles welded along an edge so that it forms a figure 8? Perhaps include an illustration of this profile. How are you using this profile type? What is the design process you are currently using as this is not a profile the AISC 360 code defines?
