Design of double I section as column is required.

In most of the industrial sheds, double I section spaced apart is used as crane column and single I section is used to support the roof above. In present STAADpro ver 24 facility to design double I section as per IS800 LSD is not available . This must be provided.

Columns can be made of double I section or double channel section with lacing or battening.

    Thank you for posting this idea. You may well have seen a similar idea was posted awhile back #SP-I-104, implementation of design of double ISMB Box section profile while designing in code IS-800-2007-LSD. However this has not attracted any significant support from any other engineer. I trust you understand that our goal is to provide capabilities that provide value to as many engineers as possible.
