Request Omitted Data from IBC/ASCE7 Seismic Load Generator

There is no method, report, or output command available to display the "k" coefficient used by the program for vertical distribution of seismic base shear per ASCE 7-16, Eq 12.8-2. Since this value can vary with the period it needs to be reported to the engineer for validation.

In conjunction, there is no method to view the seismic mass by node elevation used by the IBC/ASCE7 seismic load generator for structures that have flexible diaphragms. Only the applied seismic force by node elevation may be viewed using PRINT LOAD DATA command. These masses are needed to meet the diaphragm design requirements of ASCE 7-16, sec 12.10.1.

Clearly, both of these are known values calculated by the program and I don't understand why they are not availble to the user as a report or output command. Please add these in a way that could be exported to excel where the user can check, group, manipulate, etc the data as they choose.

Thank you for posting this idea. There is always a balancing act to play with the amount of data that is output compared with the data that is used in order to report the data specifically requested, in this case the loads resulting from the seismic definition. I would however point out in this case that although not reported directly, the value K is defined in clause 12.8.3 as a function of the structure period which is reported in the output.
