Tapered Sections naming in STAAD.Pro

I think it is a good idea to allow users to name their Tapered sections as with the prismatic sections or sections created by user table. Because many times user creates many tapered sections in his model, andt when it comes to modifying one of these tapered sections , the user faces some difficulties to identify what tapered section he want to change.

Saed Al-Halteh in reply to Carlos Aguera

    Dear Mr. Carlos Aguera,
    Thanks for your reply.

I was not aware of that the ISection in the user table can be used to define Tapered I section ( variable depth along member length ).

And As you mentioned, perhaps a method where a defined section could be added to a user table where adding the name would be required might be a better way to go.

But I have a question Regarding the the ISection in the user table now, and I am not sure if this is the right place to share it,
Can't STAAD Calculate the torsional constant and shear area if we used the I section user table. As those properties were not required as an input within the tapered section

As you rightly say sections created in a User Table are identified by a specific name. The 'ISECTION' user table is for creating tapered wide flange shapes. The shapes created by the 'Define' method are intended as quick access methods where adding a name would mean adding more unnecessary information. Would you not feel that perhaps a method where a defined section could be added to a user table where adding the name would be required might be a better way to go?
