One Cursor to select all objects

It is highly inefficient to require the user to switch cursors for each selection in STAAD. STAAD shall identify the context of operation automatically, and select the object required.

Users should be able to select nodes, beams, plates, loads, text, etc all using one cursor. STAAD should do this by default. If the user needs a specific filter for an object type, then the user may switch to a specific cursor.

The geometry cursor is a mild improvement; however, it does not show the tooltip when you hover on objects, which is another limitation.

Creating a default cursor that selects all objects is one suggestion. That would give us the most significant improvement.

The geometry cursor only allows you to select nodes and members. It doesn't allow you to select loads, texts, etc.
Adding the tooltip to the geometry cursor would be another suggestion. Yes, the ability to display object properties would be a good option.

Thank you for posting this idea. However, it is confusing as you say this is provided with the Geometry cursor. So it seems that your idea is that the the tooltip options be extended to the Geometry cursor. However, I would perhaps extend that suggestion further to include the option of displaying the object properties (also known as Member or plate Query dialog) when the cursor is over one of these objects and double clicking.

I am sure you will have seen that we provided that single selection cursor method in the Physical Model workflow.
