OpenSTAAD Function for Creating a Section using Profile Polygon

StaadPro provides the option to create a custom open section by defining a profile polygon (refer to the snapshot attached). Sections created this can be visualized as 3D objects when rendered instead of just showing a simple line. This helps in creating built-up sections. I believe there is no function exposed by OpenSTAAD currently, so is it possible to expose this functionality. The section properties may be calculated automatically as soon as the polygon definition. This helps the automation tasks much easier and seamless.

Thank you for posting this idea. This does seem like a sensible proposal. Would you agree that current function VARIANT OSPropertyUI::AddUPTPropertyGENERAL() could be complimented with another function VARIANT OSPropertyUI::AddUPTPropertyGENERALEX() which takes an array of 2D points as input that define the points of the profile? However, to complete the actions, there would need to be a function that could be used to get the profile point data that was in addition to the general function VARIANT OSPropertyUI::GetUserProvidedTableSectionProperties() which just gets the primary properties. Something like VARIANT OSPropertyUI::GetUPTGeneralProfilePoints() So in summary a good idea, but would need siginficant work to deliver a practical offering.
