Thank you for providing this information. However the solution already exists. If you want to limit the zone over which the loading is applied, then the it is possible to use the XRANGE, YRANGE and ZRANGE options.
Not the original poster but just an idea, maybe provide an option that wind doesn't have to be applied generically. Maybe a similar model that you have created for the new enclosed zone model. you define an enclosed area that the wind would be applied to. Then you got the total area of the enclosed area, the member sizes, their beta angles relative to that plane. Which would be enough to determine solidity.

Thank you for posting this idea, however, can you elaborate on the concept that you think STAAD.Pro could implement? How are you suggesting the ratio should be calculated when wind is applied a generic model?
